And I just got done packing up my orders. It normally wouldn’t take this long, but unfortunately I realized I made a big mistake when placing my orders online, and over ordered some products…so this took a while to sort out…and now I have a ton of products I need to sell before the end of the campaign, or pay to have it returned. Lame!!
But on another note, I feel pretty proud of myself. I didn’t think I’d be making these kinds of sales so quickly, especially with my time restraints. I feel like I’m getting the hang of it, and I can’t tell ya how happy that makes me! And it makes me a bit proud. I found out after signing up that even my great grandmother sold Avon!! It’s interesting how versatile this company is, because there are customers today who have known Avon their whole life, and the company still meets their needs, but also how they are constantly changing to create new lines to meet the younger generations needs. It’s something that takes a lot of dedication.
But not only does it cater to the customers, but it caters to the representatives. Because even though Avon is one large business, it allows us to run our own business, without investing all of our money. You don’t have to buy all your merchandise up front, and there aren’t any crazy strings attached. You create your own image, stemming from a company that has been around for 125 years, and has built its reputation, for YOU. How much better does it get than that?
So I bought a magazine one day when I was just casually strolling through the book section at SAMs, and one of the articles was about the best way to get back into running. I liked it, so I had to share!!
It’s a simple idea. Do a small amount of running and a recovery time, in a simple pattern. All you have to do is count!
Of course, ALWAYS start with stretches, and plenty of water.
1 minute.
Split in half. Run for 30 seconds and then walk for 30 seconds. This is enough for a brief warm up and recovery time. Don’t over exert yourself now, this sounds simple, but when you haven’t run in ages like me, it is necessary to take this part easy. During this time frame, you need to work on your form, concentrating keeping shoulders back, and work on your breathing and keeping a steady stride.
2 minutes.
After you finish the first minute, you go on to the second round. This time you run for a minute and walk for a minute. This is where you can work on concentrating more on your strides and breathing. work on taking longer strides and being effective in your movements. Then, take another minute to walk and recover.
3 minutes.
This is where it becomes a challenge for those of us who haven’t been working on our cardio as much as we should, something I am very guilty of in my busy day to day life. You have down your posture, breathing, and strides. Now concentrate on a goal. When you think you are going to give up, this is where you just count down in increments of 10. Just tell yourself “10 more seconds, just 10 more” until you reach the end of the minute and a half run. Then, another recovery time for a minute and a half. Make sure you are staying hydrated!
4 minutes.
This is where you need to really push yourself. This is the biggest hurddle. This is where you need to set a visual sight, and push yourself to reach that point, and keep doing that until you reach the two minute mark. Once you have hit that, it gets easier. Take the next two minutes to hydrate yourself again and walk. Regulate your breathing, and take a second to stretch any tense muscles.
3 minutes.
Repeat above, but take your time concentrating on your strides again. This should only be a cool down jog, which is necessary to prevent your muscles from cramping tomorrow. Again, another minute and a half walk.
2 minutes.
One minute run and one minute walk to finish it off, and take the time to stretch out your muscles so you won’t be too sore tomorrow.
Pat yourself on the back…you made it!
I received an email with the list of what is not included in my order, but I have yet to receive word when it will be shipped. I am so darn impatient, and this isn’t helping.
I’m so anxious to see the prizes for campaign 8 and 9, since they will both be arriving with this order. I’m also looking at what to use for campaign 10. I really like giving away these items before they are available to the public, so I might be giving away another demo. I also really enjoy giving away the jewelry in time for spring.
I would like to clarify something though. I don’t want it to seem as though I have started these giveaways in an effort to bring IN customers, because I don’t really expect that at all at this point in time. It would be silly to go order something just to try to win another!! Really, I wanted to start this so I can reward my loyal customers, many of whom have been supporting me since I started, as well as a thank you to those who follow me and keep up to date with how I am doing in my business.
So thank you to my customers and thank you to my followers! You guys are what makes being an Avon Rep so enjoyable. With that being said, good luck on winning campaign 8!!
This campaign must have been the most stressful so far. I’m pretty upset that the dress I wanted for my birthday, which I was so excited about, which I’ve waited over a month to finally order, isn’t available online…but on the WEBSITE it doesn’t show a lack in stock. I might have to place this order online, but if I do, I’m not going to be happy, because I was trying to back-order it from C5 when it was only $23.
When I first started selling Avon, I didn’t have ANYTHING missing from my orders. Now, there is constantly stuff not available. This is really annoying me as far as my shipments go, because it adds to the work. When it DOES get here, I gotta back track and find which order it went to, track that person down, and take it to them. It’s just not fun.
But the good news is, my orders keep growing as new customers arrive. I’m very happy about that…I just wish I got my whole order all at once like I used to. It was nice!
Mrs. Pat, you have won the 8-in-1 eyeshadow palette in water colors, the please hold eye shadow primer, and the eye makeup remover lotion. It will be delivered with your order!
Values:
8-in-1 Eyeshadow in Water Colors: $12.00
Please Hold Eye Shadow Primer (mark): $7.00
Eye Makeup Remover Lotion: $4.00
Thanks everyone for the participation, I can’t wait to see who wins next campaign!
I fell a little behind on my make up challenge, so I’ll go ahead and post for the 3 days I missed, as well as today!
Day 3. Three Makeup Products You Wish You Had
Because I have been trying to get so much make up products from Avon, I have been sale hunting so I can get the most for my money. How ever, there are some higher priced items I would love to get, including:
mark All the Highlights Soft Glow Illuminator: $16.00
Its a blush, highlighter, and bronzer in one, and is made to look great with all skin tones.
mark I-Mark Custom Pick Eyeshadow: $6.00
This is something for a gal who knows exactly what she wants from her eyeshadow. The palettes are great because they make multiple colors that all go together well. But the I-Mark Custom Pick eyeshadow is where YOU take the wheel and pick the colors for your own look. There are endless possibilities!

mark On the Dot Metalics Eye Color Compact: $16
This is something my mom has already purchased, and she had to pry it from my clenched hands. I was surprised by how small it was, but I know it’s well worth it because the pigment for these colors are extraordinary! Very true to their color and so many colors to choose from! They have the yellow, a color that I have to call burned gold (a tan/orange meets metalic), blue, green, teal, purple, white, and two browns, so you can use any colors to combine and create a beautiful effect on your eyes. This product has to win some sort of award for being amazing!
So those are the top 3 products I would want to try, what about you?
Day 4. Four Makeup Products You Can’t Live Without
While most people might list the most amazing eyeshadow here, or a trademark lipstick, I think the most important products are those left unseen:
mark Primed for Perfection Face Primer: $10.00
Before you put on eyeshadow, before you even touch your foundation, you have to lay the primer, and this is the primer I use every single day. It requires very little product, and goes on as smooth as lotion, leaving a soft finish that is prepared to hold your make up all day.
http://shop.avon.com/shop/product.aspx?pf_id=39629
MagiX Face Perfector: $10.00
This is colorless, so it works on every skin tone without having to play the guessing game. I have used it on my fair skin and I’ve seen clients use it on darker skin tones, and it is just as even and smooth on theirs as it is mine. With it’s gel to powder finish, you can wear it under your regular foundation, or you can wear it alone. It has a built in SPF 20, and banishes shine for up to 10 hours, so this is going to be my go-to product this beach season!
SuperSHOCK Max Mascara: $9.00
I know, I said the most important are things left unseen, but I feel as though excellent mascara never gets the recognition it deserves. I picked this mascara because of its ability to build your lashes, so you can use it for the day or night. One coat and you have a feminine longer lash for your day time look, and anything after that builds the dramatic thicker and longer lashes. You can even get it in Waterproof!

http://shop.avon.com/shop/product.aspx?level1_id=300&level2_id=301&pdept_id=312&cat_type=C&pf_id=42809
Brow Gel: $6.00 (current sale price: $2.99)
Another product that can often go unnoticed is a good Brow Gel. This is a wonderful tool to shape your eyebrows and keep them in place. This does not replace a brow filler, but works well with the filler to create the eyebrows you desire, and also helps keep them clean between plucking/waxing/trimming.
Day 5. Five Favorite Makeup Brushes
Well this is easy!
mark Go With The Pro Mini Brush Kit: $16.00
This kit includes a powder brush, eyeliner brush, eyeshadow brush, lip color brush, and concealer brush, inside of a neat little case that protects them from being damaged. These brushes are smaller than the average brush but work great and can fit neatly in your purse. They are great for starter set of brushes or brushes to take with you when you travel.
The powder brush is something I use for my mineral make up, blush, bronzer, etc. It is soft and applies evenly.
The Eyeliner Brush is best for giving a soft smoky effect.
The eyeshadow brush gives great control as far as where you are placing the color, and is great for blending.
The concealer brush is turning into my best friend. I use it to take a little bit of foundation to conceal blemishes instead of using an actual concealer, so it’s not as thick, but still gives great coverage.
My lip color brush is great for applying the lip colors I have received in a palette before, and also great when someone wants to borrow my lipstick, since the brush can be cleaned and the lipstick itself can’t be.
Day 6. Six Favorite Makeup Brands
Well, seeing as I’ve stopped using other brands all together, I will instead list 6 favorite product lines from within Avon/mark.
Shine Attract Lipstick: $9.00
This is a very new product to Avon, since it only started in Campaign 5 of this year. It is a lipstick that has a color center and a clear coat around it, that gives you the shine, as if you are wearing lip gloss over the lipstick. You can apply it lightly for a glossy look or you can apply it heavier for that rich color you can only get from lipstick, and I love that it doesn’t have a sticky feel, but instead feels like chapstick.
http://shop.avon.com/shop/product.aspx?pf_id=43813
Glimmersticks: $7.00 (current sale price: $2.99)
Available for brow definer, lip liner, and multiple eyeliners (regular eyeliner, water proof eyeliner, liqui-glide eyeliner, and diamonds eyeliner - which has SPARKLES!). This is easily one of the top sellers from Avon. They apply very smooth and evenly, with a large variety of colors!
http://shop.avon.com/shop/search.aspx?department=search&find_spec=glimmersticks
Solutions: $8.00 - $19.50
With a variety of solutions products to choose from, there is something in here for many different needs. I, personally, love the total radiance products. I use the thermal cleanser and the PM solutions night cream. I also have the nutura moisturizer which I use in the morning. They always have some sort of sale in this department, and I don’t think it gets the recognition it deserves!
http://shop.avon.com/shop/search.aspx?department=search&find_spec=solutions
TRUE COLOR Eyeshadow Quad:$9.00
These are great because from the variety of colors you can pick out a quad that is great for any eye color, for day time looks, night time looks, to get a nice pop of color, or for something natural. The colors in the palettes all work together nicely to create a finished look.
http://shop.avon.com/shop/search.aspx?department=search&find_spec=True%20color
Smooth Minerals: $7.00 - $12.00
A growing line in Avon, the smooth minerals make up is showing a lot of promise. It will be a couple more campaigns until the loose powder eyeshadow is released, but so far reviews for the other smooth mineral products are high, and I am enjoying the use of the blush and “Radiant Veil”, which appears to be a form of bronzer. The fact that my foundation has delayed deliver because of a lack in stock, I have to assume this is a very popular item right now, and can’t wait for the eyeshadows to make their way onto the scene. I’ve had a sneak peak at one color that will be available at the unveiling: Lilac. I can’t wait to see what else is in store!
http://shop.avon.com/shop/search.aspx?department=search&find_spec=smooth%20minerals
Foot Works: $4.00 - $10.00
This is something some of my customers are a huge fan of, so I have to give a shout out to Foot Works products. They have a product for everything as far as foot care goes, including an anti-rub blister stick when you are wearing heals and flats while doing a lot of walking, foot deodorant, and arthritis achy foot and muscle cream. They have everything!

I will be placing all Avon orders in 3 days, have you placed your order yet?
Last day to place orders for this campaign online is Saturday, the 17th. I will also be doing my first giveaway on the 17th, so be sure to get your names put in (for more details on that, follow the link below)
http://mytasteofavon.tumblr.com/post/18777212049/bi-weekly-give-aways
I have been talking about this to customers for the past week, and I am so excited! To any Avon reps out there who have an android, iPhone, blackberry or iPad, you can sign up for intuit gopayment, and you get a free card reader! They charge only 2.7% on transactions using visa, discover, and MasterCard, so it’s much more convenient than filling out those card forms we received from Avon….and MUCH safer, because the app is password protected, even if the screen just goes black or you switch apps. I even received a debit card for free, which I will be using to keep my Avon money seperate from personal money…without having to open another bank account, and being able to manage all of my money online, and I can transfer the money to my personal account when ever I want, and use it at ATMs to receive cash. It has all the perks of a debit card without having to go to the bank! I love it!
So I just picked out 2 more prizes that will be showing up in the near future as giveaways…I will give you three hints!
1. They are jewelery.
2. One of these giveaways is a set.
3. You will have them before they are available to order!
I can’t wait to show these prizes off, they are fabulous!
…and we all know people who have birthdays, holidays, and anniversaries coming up!
Need help picking out a gift? Avon has items for kids, teens, women, and even a few goodies for the man in your life.
What sales do we have right now?
Great sales on Watches for Him and Her!
Sweet discounts and gift sets in the fragrance section for Him and Her!
Easter Home Decor: Get it before it’s gone!
Colorful Kitchen accessories, just in time for Spring!

And don’t forget, it’s nearly time for beach season, so get those foot creams stocked up now and start collecting those fabulous nail colors, before they are gone!!

Day 2. Two Makeup Products You Would Not Recommend
The only two products from AVON that I really don’t care for, are no longer on the website at this point, which I think is a relief because I do not want my customers ordering them and being as disappointed as I was!!!
One was the True Color Eyeshadow Sticks. It was a cream stick, and it did not go on well at all, and was very disappointing.
My second to least favorite is the Precision Glimmer Eyeshadow, which has GREAT pigment, goes on well, but it doesn’t seem to blend well with other colors…which is a big problem, because I don’t want to walk around with just a bright blue on my eyelid. I was pretty disappointed about that one as well, but it’s not a complete loss. I still like to use it as an accept color in the very corner of my eye from time to time, or to add color to my bottom lashes and brighten up my eyes. It’s great for some things, just not everything.
Day 1. One Makeup Product You Use Everyday
There are a lot of options to pick from here, without the total package, it’s difficult to achieve any look. How ever, the one product I can’t go without is mascara, so I have to pick that one.
While there are several mascaras to choose from, the one I wear in my day to day is:
SuperSHOCK Max Mascara in black.
It gives a great ballance of length and volume for an every day look.
